Back to the $280 a night, if you look on Google local listing where I'm putting this review you will see that you can book the exact same rooms they give you for $280 for $89 night. now this makes a lot more sense, for $90 a night you can expect the place to be the way it is, but for 280 a night, there is zero justification for the place to be the way it is.
Came to stay here for a few days, I got a mixed reaction from start to end. What I mean by that is when I went to the website and I saw the photos I was stunned that for $280 a night you get such a nice place. And like all other things what you see is not what you get.
Our room far exceeded my expectations. PLENTY of room for just the two of us. The kitchenette was well stocked with cooking utensils, flatware, plates, bowls, cups and glasses. I never found myself wishing I had brought some "kitchen item" from home. And yes, I cooked meals.
We had extra everything provided in the closet or cabinets. A blanket, bath towels, LOTS of pillows, bathroom paper products, even a bottle of dish soap resting in the dish drying rack. I did have to ask for a dish cloth and towel which was supplied immediately.
If you plan to come down to Dewey to be by the beach, search other hotels in the area, they seem to be very nice, much cleaner, they don't smell like trash, they are updated from outside and inside, and they are much more reasonable even if you pay the full rate.
I always try to look at the bright things and positive things as I don't like to be negative. So other than the fact that when you go up to your room and all you smell is trash smelly disgusting trash, on every single floor right next to the stairs, gives you such a bad feeling for paying $280 a night. I told myself this hotel is not worth more than $70-100 max a night! Oh yeah, back to my positiveness, the room is decent yes, it has been renovated, air-conditioner works good and it's clean, the first thing you smell when you walk in the room after all of that disgusting trash is a strong, very strong, very very very strong chlorine smell, I don't know if it was from cleaning the floor or the sheets on the beds, so if you sensitive to smell, this place definitely is not for you.
A/C was cold, ceiling fans worked, and the appliances were adequate for vacationing. I came for the relaxation and the view and Surf Club delivered! Literally steps from the beach. Perfect location at the end of a short street off the main road.
So now it's your decision, you can book the place and experience what I have, or simply look for other places.
The beach itself, that really has nothing to do with the hotel, it's beautiful, clean, and the perfect spot. But you can come here without staying at this sleazy hotel.
Decent hotel that's right on the beach. The room rates were reasonable. I had a nice view of the ocean. Housekeeping staff was great. My only complaint is that there were no beach towels by the pool. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Now you are asking me to COME AGAIN, spend more $ on your junky place, and HOPE things will get better? Are you like for real?
If you're looking for a quick overnight place to stay at the beach this is it, the view is nice despite not having a balcony. The hotel is steps from the beach. There is no elevator so expect stairs. Parking is limited. Overall it was a good but not great place to stay
I was a bit surprised there was no elevator, just a narrow staircase. (I personally did not find this to be a problem.) They do have a functional dumbwaiter to haul your cooler and/or suitcase up to your floor.
Really enjoyed my off season stay. Much to my surprise, I managed to book a "no vacancies" weekend anyway! As others have mentioned, parking is at a premium but it all worked out in the end. We were late arrivals, so the desk staff person directed us to a parking space and stood in it until I could turn the car around and park!
Bottom line, I will definitely stay again.
Wishing you all the best and hit the beach!
Clean updated room. Was pleasantly surprised by the large fridge, microwave, 2 burner stove and toaster in the room! The place was just perfect for a 3 night vacation for my wife and I to have a little getaway. Right on the beach with nice views. Staff was friendly and I just loved the kitty, Baby (next time I will bring treats for her). Walking distance from plenty of places to eat, but still in a quiet area of town. Since my stay was mid September parking was not an issue. I just wish they would have rooms with a balcony, but I know they cant exactly change the structure of the entire building to accommodate that! Would have stayed another week if my job would allow it. Definitely plan to come back next fall too.
Room service is nothing but making your bed and changing towels. All the dirt remains behind. Why don't they throw the trash away ?!?!
Looking at other reviews, I don't see anybody paying the higher amount giving this place five stars. And I also realized that the owner or someone from the hotel responds to every review, although they apologize, they don't seem to take any action, which justifies my words about their honesty and credibility.
Don't bee deeply disappointed, that does not fix things, do something about it! You never had "high level of service" so how could I or anyone experience it? If you read your reply, it has very little to do with my issue, clearly you just "CUT/PASTE" your replies here.
But it is what it is, and clearly they're not very honest people, otherwise when you call them they would not charge you so much money and tell you that you can get it for $89 a night.
The dates we came for, the dates before, and the dates after all qualify for $89 a night, I just feel I got ripped off paying $280 a night for this hotel, it is totally not worth it.

Take a look at the photos, the place is far from worth the money. As you walk up the stairs which by the way are only in One Direction, meaning one person can go up at a time or go down, also there is no elevator, so expect to carry your stuff up one or two or three flights.
I noticed you have the same review for everyone, but I do not see any action ever taken.....
I'll pass!
The front desk reception the super small place and there are zero amenities other than a super small pool for kids, parking is difficult and the spots are quite small and tight.
After arriving here, you realize that there are many many hotels all over the coast, so do your shopping wisely.
